We're moving!
We are so excited to announce that we are moving our home and expanding our farming and cattle operation to Tome, NM. It's something we've prayed about for a long time. For the past several years, we've had our house in Los Lunas, our cattle and horses in Los Chavez and various farm land leases throughout Valencia County. We'll still have pasture in Los Chavez, but this move will mean we get to expand our herd and have more cattle, horses, pasture and farmland right outside the door. It's always been our dream to consolidate to mostly one area. And now, it's become a reality!
We have the most beautiful irrigated farm land lease bordering the Rio Grande bosque in Tome with views of the Manzano Mountains. We will plant grass pasture for the cattle on half and farm the other half for winter feed. We've also bought the farm homestead and will be moving there this spring! It was a thriving family farm and dairy in the past and is rich with history.
The farm house is adorable, and we can't wait to start the renovations on it. The property has amazing weathered cedar corrals and the most unique dairy barn with an attached apartment. We are really looking forward to using much of the existing materials in the renovation of the house and the outbuildings to honor the history here and bring this farmstead back to life! Eventually, we will have a little farm store on the property where you can come visit and pick up your grass fed beef, fresh eggs and custom leather projects.
The kids are helping us with every part of the process. They couldn't be happier or more excited to begin our adventure on the farm. There is a lot of work to be done: miles of fence to build, a house to remodel, barns and corrals to rebuild. Not to mention, we'll be living in an RV trailer for the next few months while we work on everything! But we're reminded in Galatians 6:9, that nothing worthwhile is ever easy, "Let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up."
Thank you for joining our family on this adventure! We look forward to frequently updating on the process of the move and renovations on social media and here on the website. Meantime, we are still open for business and have a great selection of grass fed beef in stock or bulk order. Come visit us at the new place!
You guys are so inspirational.
